Attendance Policy
Private piano lessons require a committed partnership between teacher and student. Please make every effort to attend all lessons at your assigned time. Students are expected to meet their monthly lesson quota based on the number of lessons scheduled. For example, if your lesson is every Thursday, you must attend all Thursdays in the month. If there are 4 Thursdays, 4 lessons are required; if 5, then 5 lessons.
Exception Periods:
During these periods, lessons will be scheduled according to your travel plans:
If the teacher cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time or credited toward a future lesson.
Summer Lessons
We offer 2-4 annual studio recitals where students can showcase their progress. Recitals are an excellent opportunity to develop performance skills such as poise, self-confidence, musical polish, and showmanship.
Security/Privacy Notice
The safety of our students, teacher, and studio is our top priority. For this reason, we use visible, closed-circuit security cameras and microphones in the studio, and lessons are recorded. We welcome any questions about this security measure, which is appreciated by both students and parents.

Bella Chen Music Studio welcomes students of all races, colors, national/ethnic origins, genders, sexual orientations, ages, religious affiliations, and abilities. We do not discriminate in admissions, retention, or educational policies.

- Spring Break: Please provide travel plans at least a month in advance.
- Memorial Day Weekend
- Summer Break: (June, July, August)
- Labor Day Weekend
- Thanksgiving Week
- Christmas Week
- New Year Eve
- Use the student portal to cancel or reschedule lessons.
- Lessons can be canceled up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. A make-up lesson is required, except during designated exception periods.
- Canceling within 24 hours of the lesson will result in forfeiting the lesson.
- In the case of illness or a family emergency requiring cancellation within 24 hours, please contact me directly to discuss the situation.
- It is the student's responsibility to book a makeup lesson through the portal.
- Makeup lessons are not guaranteed due to limited availability.
- The length of makeup lessons may vary depending on available time slots.
- Makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled.
- Students have 6 months to schedule a makeup lesson; the credit expires after this period.

Summer Lessons
- Lessons during the summer remain scheduled on the same days/times by default and may be conducted online to accommodate travel.
- Students may withdraw from lessons for a longer summer vacation, but their lesson day/time cannot be held during their absence.
- Fees are due monthly and must be paid in advance at the first lesson of each month to reserve your time slot.
- Additional fees may apply for recitals, festivals, competitions, and other performance events.

- Punctuality: Please arrive on time. Lessons cannot be extended for late arrivals.
- Preparation: Complete all assigned materials and written work before each lesson. Bring all necessary materials to each session.
- Respect: Treat teachers, fellow students, and studio property with respect.
- Food & Beverages: No food or drinks are allowed near the piano or other equipment.
- Pick-Up: Ensure prompt pick-up after class. Children are supervised only during their lesson time.
- Supervision: The studio is not responsible for supervising children outside of scheduled lesson times.
